Advisors: Adding a Hotel not found in Google to your Self-directed Fam
What if the hotel isn't listed on Google? Whether it's a brand new hotel or simply not connected to Google, we've got you covered!
- Starting on the FamGuru App Home Page:Open the FamGuru app and navigate to your chosen trip – for demonstration, Carrie uses her self-directed fam trip to Greece.
Accessing the Itinerary:Access the itinerary by clicking on the 'View More' icon.
Initiating the Hotel Addition:
- Click on the '+' icon in the bottom right corner.
Select 'Hotel Stay'.
Handling Unlisted Hotels:
- Start by searching for your hotel, as usual. In this example, Carrie searches for a fictitious hotel called 'Chronos in Sifnos'.
- If the hotel doesn't appear in the Google search results within the app, you won't be left stranded. Instead, at the bottom of the search results, you'll see an option asking if you'd like to add a hotel.
Click on the orange 'Add' word.
Manually Adding Hotel Details:
- You'll be redirected to the 'Add Hotel' screen.
- Input the hotel's name, in this case, 'Chronos'.
- If you're unsure of the exact address, just add a generic location that Google recognizes, like 'Sifnos'. This will at least give you a map reference.
You can always return later to fill in additional details like phone numbers or website links.
Setting the Hotel Stay Dates:
- Once the hotel is saved, specify your check-in and check-out dates and times.
- The process from here is just like we covered in the previous guide. You can input contacts, upload photos, and even attach relevant files.
- As with the other features, descriptions and other details can be added and edited as needed. For example, adding details like "In the main port of Sifnos" can give context to your stay.
- Confirming Your Entry:Once saved, your itinerary will now reflect your hotel stay during the specified dates.
- Troubleshooting Tip:If, for any reason, your updated details don't immediately show in your itinerary, simply pull down on the screen while connected to Wi-Fi. This action forces an update, ensuring all recent changes are visible.
